Los Angeles, CA – Ammunition Theatre Company (Ammo), a new force on the LA theatre scene, is proud to announce a theatrical fundraiser for My Friend’s Place (MFP) on May 22nd 2016. ONE DAY is the culminating event of Ammunition Theater Company’s “year in residence” at MFP providing weekly theatre workshops for homeless youth. Tickets go on sale May 4th.

My Friend’s Place is an organization that has served over 1400 homeless youth in LA every year for 28 years. Ammo members currently lead weekly theatre workshops called “Find Your Story,” with the organization’s youth, guiding them through confidence-building theatrical exercises that inspire both laughter and dialogue. Ammo’s Director of Philanthropy Karla Mosley explains, “Part of Ammo’s mission is to create a new normal in the way artists engage with their community. California has the largest homeless population in the country and many of those people are living here in LA.” As part of their philanthropic mission, Ammo partners each season with a charity, nonprofit, or social justice organization. This season, the company has partnered with My Friend’s Place.

“We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to partner with Ammunition Theatre Company,” says Susan Dutra, head of Development for My Friend’s Place, “The partnership [with Ammo] not only brings much needed resources and awareness to our efforts to help homeless youth to find stability and self-sufficiency, but also much-appreciated volunteer leadership and creativity in supporting our creative arts programming, helping young people to transform their lives, and find brighter futures away from the street.”

All proceeds from ONE DAY go to My Friend’s Place. To learn more about their organization, please
